Visitors to the (Un)heard festival will be offered a cup of soup after the concert "Freedom in Diversity" in the foyer of the Korzo theater in the foyer.

Brunch with residents young and old from the neighbourhood of the Cantate square. Cooking for and with each other, eating together and celebrating Freedom with speakers and music. For the kids there are sports and games.

On this day we celebrate freedom during the Zilveruitjes at COC Haaglanden! That is why we offer you this freedom soup on behalf of the National Committee 4 and 5 May.

This event brings 70 people together at the dining table to talk about freedom and democracy, with the central theme 'Boy Ecury, an Aruban boy in the resistance'. Drs. Roderick (Roy) Pieters will give a lecture about 'Boy Ecury, an Aruban boy in the resistance' and place it in a broader context with other resistance heroes. There will be spoken word and music. Visitors will enter into a dialogue led by Goriaka Maal.

Residents from the Bohemen, Meer and Bos district are very welcome to join Haags Ontmoeten Dekkersduin for our freedom lunch soup. We would like to celebrate our freedom together and cherish that we can preserve it for the future.

For residents of the neighbourhood, Freedom Meal followed by an explanation for young and older guests of the jeu de boules game. Being together, talking together, laughing together, eating together in freedom.

Freedom is not self-evident

The National Archives, Royal Library and CBG | Center for Family History are located in the same building next to The Hague Central Station, and organize a joint program around the meal. Think of photography workshops for children, short lunch lectures, (pop-up) exhibitions, conversation starters at the table, making a joint graffiti artwork and folding origami freedom doves. There is room for a maximum of 150 people for soup.
-Colors for freedom! Come work together on a painting under the guidance of a graffiti artist.
-Pop-up exhibition about the history and importance of the illegal press, based on newspapers from the KB collection.

Freedom lunch in the Panorama Mesdag museum in The Hague. We want to celebrate freedom by focusing on the mutual connection between various entrepreneurs from our network. By means of a speech and a short musical performance (spokenword) we want to draw attention to the theme Connecting in Freedom. In addition, we want to offer a guided tour in the Art Museum for those interested.

This will be an event for the residents where liberation in doing and thinking is central. During this meal the intention is that residents can eat a meal together and talk about "liberation in doing and thinking".

At Muzee Scheveningen this meal is themed around 'Freedom at Sea'. Scheveningen itself was a special area during the war and in Muzee cultural language lessons are given to people who fled their own country.

We invite everyone to celebrate 79 years of freedom in the Netherlands with Coba Bevrijts, while enjoying a cup of soup!

Reflecting on freedom starts at Den Haag Centraal. On Sunday 5 May, we will reflect on our freedom together during the first Hague Freedom Meal of Den Haag Centraal. Led by freedom ambassador Leila Prnjavorac, we will share stories, experiences, expertise and – of course – soup. Be welcome and register for free.

Extraordinary Freedom Meal! Join us for an extraordinary Freedom Meal on the beach on Liberation Day. Special meetings will take place throughout the Netherlands on Sunday 5 May 2024. This year also on the beach! Meet other people at a historic location from the Second World War. Whether you are an entrepreneur, local resident, volunteer or guest. Take a seat at the long tables. Everyone is welcome. Start a conversation together about living in freedom. Of course, acts and music have been thought of. At this Freedom Meal, each guest will also receive the soup based on Nick Toet's recipe to take home.

At the freedom meal, the residents of Laakhavens can listen to the unheard stories about freedom. There will be two guest speakers who will each tell something about the value of freedom and what freedom really is.

Freedom is a verb. That is why the Caribbean Angels foundation and the Wijkz foundation provide a cozy gathering where residents of Loosduinen can talk to each other about what freedom means for yourself and others. With music and food.

The largest freedom meal in The Hague takes place in the Museum Quarter. 500 people sit down at the table on the Lange Voorhout (Grote Kerk in bad weather).

We will serve a lunch for the elderly from Scheveningen. We especially invite the elderly who hardly leave the house (in collaboration with Respect Thuiszorg). The whole will be musically framed by a choir: the PowerFlowers.

The meal is intended for older - often lonely - residents of the neighbourhood with the aim of helping them out of isolation and ensuring social integration.

Believing in freedom On Sunday 5 May you are most welcome during the freedom meal in Stichting Schets, organised by the local community In de Praktijk in collaboration with Laaktheater. From 17:00 spoken word artist Glodi Mbwete and singer Roni Dot will perform for you, while you enjoy a delicious meal including the freedom soup provided by the Committee 4 and 5 May

Meal for lonely elderly

It will be a meal attended by 20 Ukrainians (mainly women) and 10 Dutch people (5 young people and 5 members of Stichting Historisch Ypenburg). In addition to Ukrainian City Maker Uliana (also co-organizer), several other (Dutch) City Makers will be invited. The visitors are not just ‘guests’, but also ‘co-organizers’, each in their own way.

The Zuiderparktheater is happy to participate in this new Hague tradition. That is why we are opening our season with an intimate Freedom Meal. A wonderful moment when all employees, partners and the public can meet or get to know each other again at the table after a long winter. While enjoying 'Grandma's Tomato Soup with an Asian Touch' based on the recipe by chef Nick Toet (Taarten van Babel and YouTube channel EtenMetNick) you can talk to each other. We will guide you through the program from 12:00 to 14:00 with music and words. Of course we will look ahead to the coming season. A season full of parties that we can celebrate in freedom.
